The DEORTEGAS oil is processed by a family of growers with a long history in organic growing. In the dry estates of “Els Charquillos” and “Foia Bella” olive trees have been grown traditionally for more than 15 years, with plantations of 60 to 90 olive trees/ha, of the Arbequina, Picual, Cornicabra and Hojiblanca varieties.
The olives that make up these oils are carefully selected and cold pressed, to allow them to maintain and strengthen all of their characteristics. The Deortegas extra virgin olive oils originate from 100% organic cultivation, all of them standing out due to their rich shading, with balanced bitterness and spice, and with an acidity level of less than 0.1%.
During the processing the olives are harvested from the trees, never from the ground, at their optimum ripeness by machine, so that they do not suffer any damage and are then transported in boxes. Once clean of leaves and branches, we reach the extraction process of the oil at cold temperatures, always within 24 hours of the harvest,
When finalising the processing, we leave the oil to rest naturally and the result we achieve is a very elegant organic extra virgin olive oil, of an intense green or golden colour.
